As an empath and clairvoyant, I've learned to trust the subtle whispers of my intuition even when they contradict logic. After ignoring these messages for years, I finally understood: intuition isn't a "nice-to-have" - it's essential for navigating life's challenges. In this post, I'll share how you can develop and trust your intuitive intelligence, even if you've spent years silencing it.

What Intuition Really Is (And Isn't)
Intuition isn't magic or psychic ability (though it can include those elements). It's your inner wisdom - the culmination of your experiences, knowledge, and energetic awareness. As a Capricorn sun sign who built a successful business through logic and strategy, I initially dismissed my intuition as "irrational." But after years of ignoring it, I realized I was making decisions that were better for my business but not for myself.
The Three Types of Intuitive Messages
Through my shamanic training and coaching practice, I've identified three primary ways intuition communicates:
1. Claircognizance: Sudden knowing without explanation ("I need to move to LA")
2. Clairvoyance: Visions or mental images (seeing myself riding a horse majestically)
3. Clairsentience: Physical sensations (a lump in the throat, tingling feet)
Why We Ignore Our Intuition
We're conditioned to prioritize logic over intuition, especially in Western culture. As a marketing strategist for 14 years, I was rewarded for data-driven decisions while my intuitive hits were dismissed. But here's what I learned: intuition operates on a different timeline than logic. It sees patterns and connections our conscious mind misses.
My Personal Intuition Test
When I began seriously developing my intuition, I created a simple tracking system:
- Each morning, I'd write down 3 intuitive hits
- At day's end, I'd note which came true
- Within 30 days, my accuracy rate was 78%
- Within 90 days, it was 92%
Your Intuition Starter Kit
You don't need to be "gifted" to access your intuition - it's already within you. Start with these simple practices:
Me Moment: The Intuition Journal
1. Each morning, ask: "What do I need to know today?"
2. Write the first thought/feeling/image that comes
3. At day's end, note what came true
4. After 30 days, review patterns
The Critical Distinction
Not all intuitive messages are equal. Learn to distinguish between:
- Fear-based intuition ("Something bad will happen")
- Protective intuition ("Cross the street now")
- Expansion-based intuition ("Say yes to this opportunity")
Conclusion
Trusting your intuition isn't about making perfect decisions - it's about building a relationship with your inner wisdom. As I write in my upcoming book "It All Begins With You," "The wisdom we seek is found within. Doing this inner work has allowed me to fall in love with myself." Your intuition is your direct line to this wisdom. Start listening today - your future self will thank you.
